Boyne City Facilities Bond Proposal Passes

From the Petoskey News-Review: Boyne City voters approved a city bond proposal request to pay for construction of new city municipal facilities by a margin of 498-459 in the May 5th election. The ballot question asked voters to approve a request by the city to borrow an amount not to exceed $7 million to pay for a new building to replace the city's existing facilities on its Lake Street campus just north of Veterans Park. The new building will house the city's administrative (city hall) offices, police department, fire department and ambulance department. If the city were to borrow the full $7 million, the estimated millage needed to pay the debt in the first year would be about 2.69 mills. To read the full story: Click Here
