New Restaurant in Walloon Lake

Barrel Back Restaurant opened recently in the beautifully reclaimed 100+ year-old marina building in the Village of Walloon Lake. Owners Matt and Kara Borisch named the restaurant after the old wooden barrel back boats of the 1920's, 30's and 40's that are routinely found patrolling the aqua-blue waters of Walloon Lake. There are water views from virtually every seat in the house. Chef DJ Flynn describes his menu as "simple American food." Chef DJ and his staff prepare menu items using several wood-burning kitchen appliances including a wood-fired pizza oven, a wood-fired grill, and a wood-fired rotisserie smoker.
